This is the year of the supreme sounding 45 tube. This is the first amp in a series of 45 tube amps. It was commissioned with the wood chassis provided by the customer.

It features all Hashimoto transformers and chokes. Choosing Hashimoto was a great choice to match with the 45 tube. Having a separate power supply assures a super quiet amp. C3m was used as driver, inter-stage transformer coupled to the power stage.

The power supply uses a PT220 power transformer and 2 separate raw DC supplies for the 45 filaments. The high voltage supply uses a tube rectifier (GZ34, 5AR4, 422a and equivalents) followed by a CLCLC filtering. All caps are film and film oil. The umbilical cord carries DC only and it is copper mesh screened.

The main chassis holds the audio circuits and the Coleman regulators, powering 45 tube filaments. Two 5V dc Simpson panel meters and multi-turn precision potentiometers are used to adjust the Coleman regulators. Coleman regulators are the upscale solution for feeding DC to DHT filaments. They greatly isolate the supply from the signal path.

The 45 and C3m operating in self-biased mode. All components are carefully selected to deliver an exquisite sound. The built is solid and constructed with care.

My favorite combination was using 45 globes, Siemens C3m and Western electric 422a.
