New Enclosures for my new acquisition Mark Audio Alpair12P full range driver

This week  I started a new project : building enclosure small reflex for my ne w pair of Alpair 12P full range driver, a design posted by madisound.com.

I needed these speakers because of my recent experimentation with single ended amplifier that will provide 3W of beautiful sound. My levels of listening are not as high, and I think a 92dB speakers will suffice. ( as of now I played my new amp called “Shiny Eyes ” PSE on Klipsch 93dB 3 way speakers and it is loud enough). I hope that using full range drivers will dramatically change the listening experience.

Below there are several picture during construction. I’ve used high quality 11ply Baltic birch from woodcraft.com and will use Ultra-Touch Denim insulation for padding the interior of these small reflex speakers. Panels were glue with Tite-Bond wood glue and reinforced with 1.5″ finish nails. Right now the cabinets are drying after a double layer cherry staining. Next week I will apply the finish and be ready after the New Year Eve to install the drivers and on the first of January enjoy listening to Diana Krall and Norah Jones and sipping on a amazingly rich Syrah from Bekaa Valley.
